- dessert vs desert (I always have to think about this one)

Do you see a pattern here? Now I ask, what words do you confess to have trouble with?
Oooo the trick I always have with dessert/desert, is that dessert has 2 “s” – since you always go back for seconds haha!
I am a horrible speller – most common words I have problems with are the ones with ie/ei;
– deceive
– receive
– receipt
that is a really good trick I will now never forget. Thank you! It’s always those damn ei’s!!!
I before e except after c…..that’s the rule I learned. It’s been hard to forget.
Ok, hear me out…I remember that lesson too. I was taught that in 1st grade THEN I come across words where I don’t think that rule works so now I don’t know what to believe!
