I never understood unconditional love till my children. I would never die for someone until my children. Sure, I write sarcastic posts about being a mother and may whine sometimes with a little wine but when it comes down to it, I love my sons more than anything on Earth. I’m sure you do too and for that I salute you.
Now if you’ll excuse me, I am going to sit in the pouring rain to watch my child play soccer…on Mother’s Day….completely ideal.
Motherhood: you probably won’t ever have to sacrifice your life to save your children but you will be called on sit in the rain on many Sundays to watch a game you wouldn’t turn your head to notice if your child wasn’t playing.
The true sacrifice of motherhood – your time and attention on things that you only care about because your genes are doing it. 😉
I the games are over soon. 😉
You are right. The only thing is, I’m always told soccer is almost over. This is a myth as soccer is ALWAYS occuring….all year round. 🙂
Actually – I retract, genes don’t cause it. Its just motherhood, regardless of genes, isn’t it? Well, at least they grow up and you can eventually spend your Sundays doing nothing like the rest of us.
Very true! I don’t want them to grow up…I just dont want to go to 4 soccer games every weekend, 1.5 hrs away. We have for the past 2 weekends and will again next weekend.
