5 Year Notice- I’ve Had It With this Weather

California

I gave my 5 year notice yesterday at work. No one took it seriously and I don’t blame them. The most notice one usually gives is 2 weeks. I feel as if I’m doing the respectable thing and giving them more than enough time to find my replacement.

See, Mother Nature is being a real ass hole right now and I don’t want to live in Ohio anymore. After visiting California and having 5 straight days of sunshine and the Pacific ocean, I’m done. I’m done trying to put a positive spin on the weather. I’m done trying not to be sad between January 2nd through February 28th when it’s dark by 5:30 and 1 degree. I cannot accept the fact that it’s April 18th and it’s forecasted to snow around 5 am tomorrow morning. Do you know today is the first day in 4 days my sons and I have seen sunshine since California? We’ve been back since Saturday night. It’s Wednesday.

I’ve tried not to be the person that gets depressed when the clocks fall back and I’ve repeated the mantra between January through March, “it’s gonna get better. It’s gonna get better.”

The only problem is the weather is NOT getting better. I’ve scraped my windshield the past 2 days. We walked like penguins on our stairs yesterday because of the ice. On Sunday, it poured as if it were monsoon season….in the artic. For 2 soccer games, I sat in the pouring rain on the sidelines.

So for the next 5 years, here is what I have to do:

A. Go full speed on my blog, putting all my time and energy in to it. I want to grow it so over the next year, I see a financial return.

B. Over the next 5 years, I would like to finally take the leap and publish the 2 books I have fully written.

C. Task A & B need to produce 2 million dollars. Why? Because I’ve come to the conclusion that is what we will need to have a proper house in Venice Beach (that’s where I decided we are moving). That’s not too much to ask. Right?

D. Improve my credit score. I’m guessing my existing score falls between -13 and 55.

E. My husband needs to find a job in L.A. making at least $500,000.

F. Find an excellent school system for my sons. P wants to go to Stanford (as you can see, lofty goals run in the family) so I’m hoping for an in-state tuition from living in California.

So ladies and gents, how delusional do you think I am? Is it dooable? Are you falling off your chair in laughter at the audacity of my plan? No one ever got anywhere without an audacious plan.
