Should I Apply for Making It?

Ok, I need your opinion on something. Yesterday, my inbox had an email from the show Making It. It’s like your usual reality game shows but it’s where crafty people compete for a $100,000 prize by demonstrating their crafting skills.

Making ItHere is where I need your advice. Should I try out for this? The prize of $100,000 is a shit ton of money and it’s going to cost a shit ton to send my sons to college.

Here are my existing skills:

  • All things Cricut, all of you know that.
  • Sewing
  • Handbag creations
  • Crocheting (just taught myself this)
  • Jewelry making
  • Embroidery
  • Invitation designs

And these are things off the top of my head. And the other cool thing about this? I would get to meet 2 super funny, talented people, Amy and Nick. I’ve read both their books (Amy’s twice), loved them in Parks and Recreation and loved her in Sisters. I would honestly be that spaz that flips out and starts crying the moment I meet them.

I just started my Etsy shop (despite being kicked off years ago but that’s for another post) and have to put stuff in it. Last week, I text my husband, “I just want to quit my job and make shit all day”. It got me thinking, that might be my tagline: ” I just want to make s*** all day”. Do you like the tag line? LOL!

So what do you think? Should I go for it? I don’t know if I’m as talented as the other people I’ve seen in it but I guess it wouldn’t hurt to try?

P.S. I’ve since watched an episode and I don’t know if I could keep up with these ass holes. They’re like really, really good! Ugh!!
