Yes, I’m guilty of going down the YouTube rabbit hole. You start on a Friday night, watching videos, then what seems to be an hour later, you look up and find it’s Sunday night before work. Ok, maybe that’s a tad dramatic but like binging Tiktoks, you get the picture.
I’ve watched every channel I mentioned below for at least a year. I find either value, entertainment, aspiration, good ole’ fashion joy or a combo of any of the above when I watch it. I’ve traded cable for either streaming and/or YouTube, which is probably like half the population (sorry NBC). Here is my list in no particular order. Let’s get started!
Superfly/ Fly on the Wall
The fact that this channel even exists, I almost feel like I’m cheating the system. It’s like someone gave me their username and password and I’m watching something that would have been a very expensive monthly subscription. It’s a once a week show with the comedy legends David Spade and Dana Carvey. For my younger readers, they are SNL alumni, been in more movies than times I’ve eaten sushi and ridiculously great stand up specials.
They watch funny viral videos while adding their commentary and talk about their day-to-day in a hilarious way. Count on hilarious impersonations of Biden, Trump and Johnny Carson. Additionally, they have off-the-charts guests such as Larry David, Jim Gaffigan and Kevin Nealon.
Alexandra Gator
This adorable Canadian is a whiz with decorating, especially with renter-friendly apartment ideas. She’s the reason I have beautiful, affordable art on my walls from desenio.com.
Her personality is half the show. She’s like a bubbly, kid sister most of us have never had. Her sidekick, Graham, is ridiculously talented with building the stuff she needs to make her vision come together. You will honestly be in awe of what the AG team puts together in such tight spaces.
What’s also pretty cool is you can schedule a one-on-one with her to take a look at your space and send you a full report on how to decorate and with what.
Trek Trendy
These are my aspirational videos. He travels all over the world and shows us how we would travel if money were of no concern. From the Orient Express to a palatial suite on some of the newest cruise ships, he takes you on a daydream of amazing travel. I especially love his videos covering suites in the sky, such as on Singapore Airlines. Nothing is held back! You can see a video of what a shower or private bedroom looks like in the sky and it’s not even a private jet.
Occasionally, he brings along his beautiful girlfriend, Millie or his adorable parents. These three are always a welcome addition as they make the videos all the more fun. Sometimes I hate when someone brings along a stranger but not these 3. Love them all and IDC if they are in every video. Now the biggest question: Trek, when you gonna pop the question to Miss Millie?
Kara and Nate
If I could put two people in my shirt pocket, it would be these two cuties. A husband/wife team from Nashville, like Trek Trendy, they travel the globe, offering unique travel destinations. Whether a cold war era silo AirBnb or a North Pole icebreaker cruise you honestly don’t know where they are going to take us next.
You also get to know these two on a personal level. For example, Kara was recently diagnosed with epilepsy and so you see the struggle of them adjusting to life, having to take this illness into consideration. Considering my father died of epilepsy, it hits home for me.
Facial Yoga Expert
As I’ve said in the past, I’m vein AF and I honestly don’t care. I want to look as young as humanly possible without going under the knife. Enter Danielle Collins, a facial yoga expert. Danielle teaches super helpful techniques to work out your face, similar to how you would your body.
I love her techniques so much, I actually bought her book and practice this facial yoga roughly every 2-3 days. So if you’re interested, grab yourself a quiet/private room because you’ll be making a lot of silly faces but trust me, if you stick with it, it will pay off! She is gorgeous and I’m guessing it has a lot to do with this consistent, simple practice.
So there you have it. My top 5 favorite YouTube channels. I have other channels I watch but more specific to my odd preferences (i.e. tiny houses). Once you check out the above, let me know in the comments what you think! Also, let me know what YouTube channels you’re watching! I would love to find new, enticing channels to add to my lineup! Happy watching!
Hey! Your comments are turned back on. 😊
Don’t get me started–I love YT! Kara and Nate are top 3 for me for sure! Similar to them that I also adore are Eamon & Bec, Sailing La Vagabond, and Kinging It which have all collaborated with K&N.
For home design, I would recommend XO MaCenna*, The Sorry Girls, and Hannah Lee Duggan.
For more of lifestyle, I love Sarah Rae Vargas*, Conagh Kathleen, and Morgan Vlogs. And I am a fan of Jacklyn Hill (beau-tuber) even though she’s shrouded by controversy.
For informative content, I like Dr. Mike, Mark Rober*, and Hannah Alonzo*.
The ones that I’ve added an * to is are ones that I get the most excited to see new videos from (other than K&N).
Good morning! And you’ve clearly opened up a rabbit hole of a rabbit hole for me and I can’t wait to jump right in. I have no plans tonight other than working out so I’ll be checking all of these out tonight. I’ve pretty much replaced cable TV with YouTube and a few streaming services. Thank you for all of these ideas. Happy Cinco de Mayo!! ❤️❤️❤️
