Guys, I’ve never heard of the Mandela Effect until this past Tuesday and I think I’m experiencing it. From my understanding, the Mandela Effect is when we remember something one way and others remember it another. But it’s not just one person against the rest of the world. It’s thousands, possibly hundreds of thousands of people that remember it one way too.
Tuesday
As some of you know, I’m a food buyer for a local distributor. Part of my job is setting products up in our system so we can order them. I was asked to set up JIF peanut butter. When it came time to select the brand, I selected Jiffy peanut butter. I figured it was similar to other companies, in an attempt to sound edgier, they shortened their names. Pizza Hut has become The Hut and Dairy Queen has become The DQ.
So it was a bit shocking to me when the sales rep that asked me to set up the item, asked me to change the brand to JIF. I responded that JIF is JIFFY. She then asked where I buy my peanut butter from as there wasn’t such a thing as Jiffy. How could this be?
Wednesday
Ironically the next day, I was searching for a new podcast and came across one that made me do a double-take. I couldn’t believe what I was reading. Here’s what it said:
I made sure to listen to it and oh my God. Apparently, Jiffy peanut butter has never existed yet I can see it clear as day and I remember using it in my house. I remember the jumbled letters on the front spelling out JIFFY. I don’t know how else to say it but we used Jiffy peanut butter. To make sure I wasn’t going crazy, I text my sister:

Do you listen to podcasts? This dude goes into a deep discussion regarding Jiffy peanut butter. He swears it existed and so do I. I would have never put Jiffy as the brand of that peanut butter had I not believed with all my heart it existed. So confusing and odd!

Further down it says that Smucker’s bought Jif recently and it’s interesting that researching current peanut ? butter with jelly or jam products the ones in one bottle are made by Smuckers or Skippy and Smuckers tries to claim it’s a brand new product. Jif on the other hand is only sold in two bottles with and jam, just two bottles shrink wrapped together one Jif the other Smuckers jam, Jif is now Smuckers. It’s ALL marketing hype concocted by Alien hybrids cloned on Mars by Nelson Mandela and Baby ?? Yoda, brought to EARTH ? to RULE!

I think ? that Jiffy must have had a peanut ? butter product at sometime because I can remember the two brands competing with each other in TV ? commercials, back in the late 60s to 70s. If I am correct it’s no wonder the Jif brand today would try to convince people Jiffy never existed, when in fact they are still in business today.
I remember Jiffy had a peanut ? butter product that was half peanut ? butter half berry or grape jam swirled together to make peanut butter and jelly sandwiches ? in a Jiffy!
