Hot Mess Goes To See the Dixie Chicks

I used to like country music and yeah, I worked at Sonya’s Southwest Oasis as a Boot Buyer for a hellish 365 days but I just stopped liking it. I don’t know why. Maybe years ago when I started opening stores for Express and the music was very techno (it was even piped into the headquarter’s cafe) I was brainwashed? Maybe when I attended Express runway shows and all 82 lbs of model (that 82 lbs., I’m referring to total weight of all 20 models b.t.w) would walk the catwalk to Gwen Stefani’s Rich Girl? Again who knows.

But I still love the Dixie Chicks and still listen to their music. I’ll say it again- I love me some Dixie Chicks. I think it’s because I have seen them now twice in concert but those 2 times were about a decade ago. I haven’t been to a concert in a decade. I feel like a nerd asking this but has it changed? You know, going to concerts? If so you need to tell me now because it’s go time and I have the Dixie Chicks to go to in 12.07 hours. I’m going with my sister and I already sent her a text on what to wear.

My favorite song they ever made is Truth No. 2. It never found itself on the charts but as tacky as this sounds, it speaks to me. Many of the lyrics I feel as if they pried my head open and said, “yeah, we could totally use that topic”. To this day I don’t know what the song is about and I don’t care. If you’ve never heard it, hop on your horse 😉 and head over to this You Tube link: Truth No. 2

P.S. What should I wear to this concert? I was thinking fringed booties, daisy duke denim shorts and floral top. Too Country Horror? Ok, maybe I’ll replace said shorts with skinny jeans.
