Gosh, there are so many so I can see why it would be a challenge. Since today is the book day, I must say I listen to books more than I read them. Me can read, me just have long commute. When I’m in between audible.com books, I listen to my favorite ones over and over again.
I have never liked Chelsea Handler’s old talk show on E. I don’t know why, I just never found her funny. I avoided her books with the reasoning her books would just be an extension of her show.
“You need to read her book Are You There Vodka? It’s Me, Chelsea” my sister would tell me.
“Nah, I just don’t find her funny.” I would say as I sprayed Mystic Linen Glade all over my son’s nap time blanket so the teacher thought I had washed it that week.
So one day last year, when I was out of books to read…ahem…listen to, I took her advice and tried out the Chelsea book. OH MY GOD! Hilarious!!!! I then read Chelsea Chelsea Bang Bang and Uganda Be Kidding Me.
In Uganda Be Kidding Me there was 1 quote that I loved. It felt completely normal and like family when I heard it. In the book, Chelsea visits Africa with her friends and sister, Simone. After seeing a snake and freaking out (I too have a horrible phobia of snakes), her sister Simone had to explain why she was freaking out. At that point (I think), Chelsea made the following statement that is my quote for this challenge:
I ALWAYS WANT MY SISTER WITH ME AND IT IS OF NO CONCERN IF SHE FEELS THE SAME WAY
It’s true. Although sometimes she gets fake offended by some of my comments/humor, she is a funny gal and can crack a joke pretty easily. I think she often times thinks my jokes are malicious but they aren’t. I love her and she is one of my best friends!
